Pianist Mikhail Berestnev will give solo recital at the Kawai Piano Gallery in Plano where he presents music by J.S. Bach, Frederic Chopin, Piotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Felix Mendelssohn, Sergei Prokofiev, Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann.
Mikhail Berestnev is originally from Russia, and for the last seven years he has been based in Fort Worth, TX. He has performed in Russia, Spain, Morocco, Italy, China, the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Ireland as a soloist and collaborative pianist. Winner of the International piano competition named after Stanislav Neughaus, Gold Medal on International “Delphic Games” in Minsk (Belarus) and Eric Sorantin Young Artist Award (U.S.) he became one of the top prize winners at the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, BNDES in Rio de Janeiro and Maria Canals in Barcelona. He is a Guest Artist with “Musica Nova” Ensemble directed by renowned composer Robert Xavier Rodriguez. Frequently performs with the “Neo Camerata” Ensemble playing music by composer Mark Landson. Other collaborations include performances with Grammy nominated violinist Emanuel Borok, Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient violinist Aaron Boyd, international concert pianist Andrey Ponochevny, French Horn virtuoso David Cooper. He studied at Gnessin College and Academy in Moscow, Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and Southern Methodist University in Dallas with Irina Grebenkina, Andrei Khitruk, Alexei Skavronsky, Vladimir Troop, Tamas Ungar and Joaquin Achucarro.
